Procedure
A Geriatric Functional Evaluation (GFE) takes one hour, and includes:
• Initial interview: discussion of medical and functional history to understand current challenges.
• Assessment of daily living activities
• Physical and cognitive screening
• Mental health review
• Home environment (if requested): identification of any potential hazards that may impact safety
• Report: a summary of the main findings and recommendations to support independent living
We may recommend assistive devices, home modifications, or additional support services (such as caregiving services, or referral to medical professionals) to enhance the individual's ability to manage daily tasks and live independently.
